As a favor for a very dear friend of mine I am posting this:
My name is Jenna Campagna and I am a registered nurse with over 6 years of experience. For the past two years I have been advocating for patients diagnosed with mesothelioma.
I came across your information while searching for organizations to reach out to about mesothelioma awareness. In addition, the resources and educational information you provide are commendable and something I personally admire. I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done supporting and serving our country.
Mesothelioma is a rare cancer, only affecting 2,000 – 3,000 patients a year. Although this number may be small relative to other cancerous diseases, it is almost always 100% fatal. Sadly, 30% of all mesothelioma patients are Veterans and because very few treat it, we specialize in connecting patients with doctors and treatment options that are best suited for them.
I help guide patients through the complex medical system and provide them with free resources on treatment options, specialists, and support groups. Moreover, our website features up to date medical information, including recruiting clinical trials for those interested in experimental treatment. Since we don’t charge for our services, we don’t have the budget to advertise. I’m reaching out to webmasters to help us spread the word.
I noticed you have a wonderful links page here at http://www.amvets33.org/contact/links/ linking Veteran related websites and I think our site would be a great addition, knowing this disease effects so many Veterans. Would you be willing to add our resource to help us spread cancer awareness? A little help can go a long way.
